Description
This 1995 Ford E-350 UJoint 4x4 is one of the most completely and thoughtfully built expedition vans you will find. It started life as a fire rescue vehicle at Running Springs Fire Department in San Bernardino and has spent the last eight years being turned into a serious overlanding and travel rig by one meticulous owner.
Under the hood is a coveted low-mileage 7.3 Power Stroke diesel with just over 114,000 miles, a 6-stage DP Tune, BD exhaust brake, overhead EGT gauge, Scan Gauge 3, Ford Module RPM controller, and trans temp A-pillar mount. It does not consume oil and has no noticeable leaks. The E4OD transmission was fully rebuilt in November 2023 with upgraded billet components, a deep dish MagHytec pan, and a Mishimoto trans cooler. The Borg Warner BW-1356 transfer case is manually operated.
The 4x4 system was built in-house by Chris at UJoint using a Dana 60 front axle with SSBC 8-piston upgrade and Spyntech hub upgrade at 4:10, and a Dana 60 full-floating rear axle rebuilt at 4:10 when purchased. Both feature air breather tubes and no lockers. Custom 1350 CV driveshafts front and rear. Alcan custom-spec leaf springs built to a weigh-station weight bias. Wheels are 18x9 Satin Black Raceline Gauge 950B 8x170 in -12 offset with LT305/70R18 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires.
The electrical system runs 640 watts of Renogy Mono solar panels, an OutBack Flex Max80 charge controller, Xantrex Prosine 1800 inverter, and 1080Ah AGM battery bank wired with a switch to jump-start, charge while driving, or isolate from the chassis batteries.
Water is all internally mounted: 40-gallon fresh tank with lockable exterior fill, 10-gallon grey tank with button-activated drain, Isotemp Spa 15 heat exchanger, 2-stage filtration for dish and hand water, 3rd ceramic filter for drinking water, shower access near the passenger barn door, and all plumbing in heavy-duty braided marine-grade color-coded hose. No black tank, no porta-potty.
Heating and cooling: Espar D2 diesel heater plumbed into the main tank, 12V mini split with remote, and a MaxxFan with remote and reverse function.
Cooking: small microwave, deep stainless steel sink, full open counter, dual 12V CRX-50 Dometics, and a setup for portable induction or butane/propane cooktop.
Interior is built with custom 1/2-inch plywood cabinetry with toe-kick pull-out drawers, luxury vinyl plank flooring over 3/4-inch plywood, cedar-lined closet area, Lagun swivel mount table, custom 3M Thinsulate-filled roll-down front and rear partitions, and a rear interior bench with seatbelts. Interior height is 65 inches. Unused full-size folding mattress included.
Outside: Fiamma F45S awning in grey/dark grey, Aluminess dual swing-out rear bumper with two 1-UP bike holders and deluxe storage box, original stock steel front bumper with lower air dam removed, dual Hella Jumbo 220 fog lights, unique fold-down step license plate holder, and ceramic tint on all windows including windshield.
All UJoint components were installed by Diesel Tech in Hemet per Chris at UJoint's recommendation. Stanadyne fuel additive used every other tank. All services are current. Next oil change due June/July 2026. This rig has never been off-road, never cooked in, never slept in. Seller is motivated — dad is passing down an older truck and camper. I would trust this rig anywhere.
